Sad part is Harrisburg has the best maintained streets in PA because a few senators complained about it, specifically on streets they have property on.

Harrisburg has so much potential but nobody wants to capitalize on it. Absolutely nothing exciting goes on here besides the Farm show. Idek how it doesn’t have a good college either

Harrisburg is a literal “keystone”(pun intended) for public transportation within the megalopolis of the east coast. Between Boston, NYC, Philly, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and DC. This place could be an epicenter and cultural hub, especially given the major amusement park nearby. In many respects this place is important albeit overlooked. Born, raised, and increasingly interested in how our city will develop. The investment in AI datacenters may turn Harrisburg into a hub for innovation or a dystopian hellscape between have and have nots; similar to Silicon Valley.

I do pest control in Harrisburg let's just say you won't find a spot downtown without roaches or mice the whole city infested.

theres a difference between harrisburg zipcode and downtown harrisburg. when you are around union deposit, good part of derry street, colonial park etc you are good.

What’s even more shocking is that Harrisburg actually was a thriving city where wealthy and established black people and other minorities lived until the capital was built when the government legally pushed dozens of SUCCESSFUL black home owners, doctors, and teachers out of their neighborhoods in the name of eminent domain without any proper notice or compensation for their lost possessions! And chillingly enough, this also goes for the many black cemeteries filled with people’s loved ones and their only remains which than got buried over (with basically a weeks notice) just to make what we now know of as downtown Harrisburg and the capital complex 🙃🙃

I work in downtown Harrisburg and ever since Harrisburg started making me pay a local service tax just because I work downtown and don’t live there, I haven’t spent a dime there.
