@emmalwhittaker: THESE 5 BESTSELLING BOOKS PROVE THAT WRITING RULES ARE RUBBISH! Let’s look at 5 cliche rules and 5 current, bestselling books in stores right now that prove them wrong. #writingtips #writingtipsandtricks #howtowrite #bookwriting #writingprompts #writertok #authortok #writers #authors
I hate all those "do this/don't do that" tiktoks with PASSION literally the best thing about writing is that you can do whatever you want, the only rule is to make it make sense

I agree with all of these. When I wrote my first book I was told you should never start with a character looking in a mirror. That’s exactly what I did. So far it’s sold 9 million copies around the world. 😂

I think the real key is to mix it up... if you're Always telling instead of showing, it will be lackluster.. these aren't rules, they're tools to use at your disposal, the more tools in your toolbox, the better...

please what are your thoughts on perspectives. Especially first person perspective and third person perspective. people seem to hate books just because it's in third person perspective.

I feel like, you have to read loads of books before you even start writing, so you can discover what you like and what you don’t… and then just write. I hated writing at school, I always felt that there is nothing to say pages long, could sum it up in 3 sentences. Then later on I read so many books and I remember checking the cover in the middle of a book and wondering how can this be the New York Best Seller or something, I can do better. Soon after that my first book was published, and then the following won an award. Long story short, you can’t force writing, just follow your gut feeling 🫶

I like your content and it definitely inspired me to tell my friends there are two kinds of writing advice: okay and bad. 😂

I saw someone being told in a FB group the other day that they "didn't have a hook". they did, it was just more than one single sentence.

it's so frustrating ,I'm trying to figure out how to start my third book. Going on Tiktok with authors saying don't to this, do this, no that's going to ruin your story. what am I supposed to do then? with all this confusing overwhelming advice...I've decided to just do what I want 👏 💀
