It doesn’t make sense to boycott African braid shops because braids come from Africa. We braid because our ancestors did. But the Essence fest was created to celebrate African American women. African Americans/Black Americans should not change any other black dispora celiberations, and vise versa.

From an AFRICAN of American descent, A boycott is NEVER gonna happen! No need to worry. This is not about the Essence Fest either, this has to do with the African Union 6 Region mentioning reparations. I will never boycott someone who looks like me.
