Trigger warning ⚠️ :
I have non-epileptic seizures and idk how to explain to my partner how to help me during them as I don’t know what triggers them yet, but he stands on me during them and huffs then gets angry as soon as I come out of it and expects me to respond which obviously doesn’t help in fact quite the opposite. I was just wondering if you have any advice for those helping someone during a seizure or if you could maybe do a video please with some tips to help during one

I was told I was faking, and sent home. that night I had another where I stopped breathing multiple times and had to be intubated. The same doctors and nurses who were instructed to not help me were forced to take lessons on seizure disorders.

i was just diagnosed with fnd after experiencing one in the er. drs need to realize that even if it's not due to epilepsy specifically, people can still experience seizures :(

Newly diagnosed with seizures (epilepsy) and it hasn’t been discussed with me does SUDEP only affect those with tonic-clonic seizures or can it other types as well? Thank you.

My seizures were diagnosed as non epileptic a got worse over the years they became life threatening eventually I saw an epilepsy specialist and he told me he found spikes and sharps on my recent EEG and that he had no doubt that I have some form of epilepsy, and he had also diagnosed me with epilepsy based on what he found now I am on three different seizure, meds and almost seizure free

My neurologist & work believed it wasn’t real and blamed “bad hygiene” for my seizures (even though Im good at taking care of myself) and they only actually started believing me when I showed them a video

My bf has pain related syncope/seizures and it’s so scary. They’re far and few but I can’t IMAGINE someone saying/implying it’s just for attention or bc of boredom. He gets yellow and pale and then I look like a flying squirrel trying to give him as safe of a space as possible in 5 seconds. I’m so so so sorry the medical field failed you but I’m praying you find treatment that works

I was told I was faking. Years later I was diagnosed with epilepsy and autoimmune encephalitis that has now caused a lot of permanent damage. I never know if I’m going to make it another day. I’m so sorry you have experienced this♥️

Now this is exactly why I do what I do!!! The stigma has to stop and we as a community can start making changes now. I have both Epilepsy and seizures from an unknown cause. I get an Epilepsy care plan but nothing for the other kind so if you don’t have a care plan, write your own, if you don’t have your care wishes documented, do it now! Talk about your condition to anyone who will listen, this kind of stereotyping is not alright and change begins now. Thank you so much for sharing some of the scariest and most vulnerable moments of your life with us and I hope you’re doing much better ❤️

seizures are not considered a disability or even a real illness where I live, I've had them for 20+ years, I'm sorry you had to go through that with someone you're supposed to trust your kids life to.

I really admire you for sharing your story I have a little boy 4diagnosed with multi-focal epilepsy as a baby when he changed neurologist because his neuro retired his new neurologist said I think it's tics despite abnormal eegs told me take him off everything let's see what happens I'm getting a second opinion
