@meatdad: This is my go to method when cooking a ribeye at home! I like the broiler I like the smoker I like the barbecue, but this is my favorite! Rendering the fat and spreading it across the steak before you season it really changes the game of the crust!
Why are we seasoning a ribeye? Salt, put in fridge for a week, sear and eat! Best tasting thing ever!

Stainless steel pan is best, Put your biggest fan on, heat it for 2:30-3:00 minutes and then put oil in then 2 minutes each side per half inch. A knob of butter and based it. Perfectly tender medium rare
