can we talk about how when the towers fell pbs kept a safe place for the children. when every other network with showing footage, PBS kept running kids programs and had mister rogers and sesame street give advice on how to discuss what was happening in a appropriate way to the kids.

😭 You don't understand. When you have no dad, and a neglectful mom, and Mr. Rogers says that YOU matter and someone cares...he brought us all of PBS and he changed so many lives for the better. And now I'm bawling 😭

I was raised in a neo-n cult and I'm being 100% serious when I say that PBS was a huge reason why I knew the rhetoric my parents spewed was wrong + they never infected my mind with it. because they would say that these people were all of these horrible things... but I'd watch Sesame Street and see the people my parents were always yelling about being kind, brave, good, and everything my parents told me "those people" weren't. and my parents? they were saying the things the bad people on the shows said. the villains. the monsters. it showed me- when I was too young to even know how to tie my own shoes- that my parents were the bad people and the people they screamed about? they were kind just like me. (which is exactly why I think they want to do away with it all)

if you're reading the comments: for $5 a month you can get a passport and watch their streaming catalog! they may have lost their federal funding, but the public can fund them! we can save this resource! love you, mean it!

Cancelled my other streaming apps and putting all the funds towards increasing my monthly support for PBS. PBS raised me to be the loving, literate adult I am today and I will do anything to save it for the next generation to enjoy.

I was part of the first generation raised on PBS, Sesame Street, later Zoom, and then Gimme Shelter/ Stones,etc. This administration wants mindless drones and zombies. How dare u question anything. They don't want citizens who criticize and know better. Thanks Jesse
