So I am a professional door kicker and you are completely right. There is a sweet spot in the kick. Have just enough bend that when you hit the door you have enough extension to push the locking lost out of the door jam . It’s really more technique than force.

Hyper extended my knee around 45 degrees. Broke my tibial plateau, tore my meniscus, and tore my PCL tearing a piece of bone away. Not fun. Needed a 4 hour surgery and a bone graft.

Bro, I learned that you do NOT straighten your leg when exercising or kicking things in 7th grade. I fear it’s common sense to not straighten your leg, you’re going to lock or hyper extend your knee and it’s gonna hurt BAD.
