You're notbthe only one. I embarrassed myself at Ross. Didn't hear the cashier say "this register is closed". She spoke in a low tone, i didn't have my Hearing aids on.

As a late HOH, I learned that hearing aids only made things louder not more clear. I would hear the distorted part louder so sometimes I could make out the word better.

being hoh myself now in my 60's small talk just isn't a thing. let me tell you how hard that is being a cashier at target. luckily my name tag says hard of hearing. 😅

That’s how I was when I was majoring in ASL but it got too hard and I was just picking up some signs and my professor pretty much told me to change my major 😭
