@untroubledmama: When she did the gesture to “clock tea” we all had to hold back the laughter. Every Sunday we have dinner at my moms house and yesterday my Great Aunt was in attendance. When I say Maya Angelou was in the building…..she has ZERO tolerance for this younger generations foolishness and disrespect. My daughter will probably think twice before complaining about food again…..Yesterday is going down in history😂 #fyp#fypryoupage #family #familydinner #familytime #dinner @D@DarkSkinnedBeautytoya24 @Shelley_Sews
A gentle reprimand without raising her voice or cursing 💪🏾 a class act 💯❤️

Chile the point is going over so many heads in the comments. It’s not about the food. She is letting her know there’s a way to communicate a dislike and being considerate of other’s hard work & time. While she’s saying “learn the value of respect” I think it’s simply about being polite. I’m ASSUMING the child was rude or disrespectful in the way she communicated her dislike for the food. She’s teaching her a valuable lesson at a young age. It’s not what you say — it’s how you say it. This generation hates wisdom & correction.

She calls it "complaining ", but what did the child say? We need to stop taking sides when we don't know both sides first. When we gonna learn?

I didn’t cater to my kids. I was a single mom who worked sometimes two jobs….im not going to make two separate dinners. You eat what I cooked or you didn’t eat. Simple as that. I had a picky eater too. He ate all my meals. If you’re hungry enough you’ll eat.

This was something my grandmama felt very strongly about. She also said never make fun of what others bring to eat because that might be the only thing they have. Stuck with me my whole life.

So what exactly are you supposed to do? Just sit there and push around the food and then be hungry afterwards? I’ve always wondered what’s expected when you don’t like the food? Just suffer and be awkward? Lol

Y’all boomers need to learn a different word! Not every thing is about respect! Half of them don’t even know what respect means. Find a new word. These boomers and respect. I’m definitely triggered!

Right, they don’t have to eat something but they certainly don’t have to complain about it.

This is what People with home-training grew up with. We were taught these lessons, only to realize how true and valued these words are as adults. GenZ and younger need to put their entitlement in check.

She’s right.. but also forcing food on ppl can cause eating disorders.. but I was not a picky eater as a kid.. my mama cooked what we could afford and I did respect that

Why should respect go one way. Let’s respect that everyone doesn’t eat the same foods and value their decision to not want it

There's a lot of people complaining about information that wasn't conveyed in this video. The elder isn't forcing her to eat anything she's not mad that she spoke up. She simply conveying respect about somebody working in the kitchen and providing a meal, whether she liked it or not. Everyone's entitled to their opinions and everyone's entitled to stick up for themselves. If we're going off of just the information given I don't see how you could find anything wrong with this video....
