I used to gym 5-6 days a week , did classes. Knew the gym staff so well. Was my safe space. Got sick and it’s been 2 years and the fear of going back is REAL!!!! You are so right though! 😅

My whole first year in the gym was awful. I was so scared to stand out in the slightest,I was too scared to do exercise aligned with my goals and was stuck doing this everybody does. Even the smell when I walked in would give me bad vibes. Lucky I have gone over that staged,I don’t know when and how but am happy it’s over and I wish I knew how I overcame it so I could advise other people but I never even noticed, it just came with time

I joined a gym in November, I felt the same way! Embarrassed! So I got myself a strength trainer to teach me how to use the equipment properly. It’s now July and I still work with him as I have real results!!! And he pushes me! Also I have learnt how important food is! Lots of protein!!! I’m 50 and never looked better! ☺️

I totally did step 2 for like a month at my gym before I hit up the actual gym floor. I watched how everybody used each machine or weight.. I'm down 85 pounds as of today in 8 months

Do you have alterations for injuries? Cause I have an old coccyx injury that still gives me grief with bilateral hinge movement (rip bb deadlifts and hip thrusts 😭)

I’m a personal trainer and even I get nervous going into a new gym with equipment I haven’t used before. But I just remember no one should judge you for trying and learning. I’m not going to automatically know how to set up every machine first time using it. It’s ok to trial and error and even ask for help!

I wear ear buds, put a hat on, and just go lift. I’ll walk around and look at machines, try things out, and pay NO mind to anyone watching me. I could not care less what they think. If they’re focused on me, their workout is wack and that’s on them.

I workout with Ladder and I really really want to workout in your team but Inam not ready to be 100% in your team what I do is Sunday that I work out later (I work out at 3am) so I pick one of your workouts and do it on Sunday and work out in some of the machines because I am scared of the machines, and I am feeling a little better. Maybe for the next series I can move to Limitless.

Needed to hear this today! I have been going to my apartment gym but since I’ve started your program I’m needing heavier weights and a barbell (yay strength!!) but the gym anxiety is reeaalllll. I’ve never worked out at a gym- even in my high school sports days, girls got the basic machine equipment(not even dumbbells) while the boys got the traditional strength programs. The cardio trick is brilliant! Thanks for giving tips and how to handle this!
