@iamashantis: I heard there’s a conversation right now on Black women’s bodies that’s missing the mark so let’s open a book and learn. Many of these titles are available at your local library!!! - Fearing the Black Body: The Racial Origins of Fat Phobia - Belly of the Beast: The Politics of Anti-Fatness as Anti-Blackness - Decolonizing Wellness: A Qtbipoc-Centered Guide to Escape the Diet Trap, Heal Your Self-Image, and Achieve Body Liberation - The Body Is Not an Apology: The Power of Radical Self-Love - Movement for Every Body - Bad Fat Black Girl - It’s Always Been Ours - The Body Liberation Project All books written by Black folks about Black bodies.
This!! I study nutrition and when I tell you it has completely changed my mind! I don’t even focus on calories or counting carbs. I don’t even look at bmi because it a bogus racist calculation. People said I look better at 230 then I do now at 174 but i still look like a typical black girl at 21 like please leave everyone alone and just be healthy and have a great support system to help you met your exact goals not just your ideal body😬
