I'm pretty sure over half of those should have resulted in a lawsuit.

my dad was just friday because he had pink eye and the dr said he couldn't go to work for a few days since its contagious. my job transferred me because I reported there was some illegal stuff going on. the girl doing the illegal shit never got in trouble and they swept everything under the rug. so I guess I should just be lucky I was transferred and not fired.

I worked at a “seniors” doctor’s office. My wife and I were foster parents, and got a call asking us to accept a medically fragile infant who was not expected to live long. I called my boss and told him, and he asked me why was I at work instead of picking up this child. He came around to our house and asked how he could help. When the child did not die and it looked like we’d have him long-term, my boss had me sign an official resignation so that I could receive severance and be hired back again. Sadly, a few years later, my boss and friend passed away from a sudden illness. Everyone loved him so much, our center was closed for the day and all the employees went to his funeral, accompanied by the owners of this multi-location, bazillion dollar franchise.

My husband and I both worked for the same prison in Missouri. I was taken out by ambulance. The shift commander told him Go with your wife. About two weeks later he got a certified letter from Jefferson City telling him he was fired. I told him not to go back, call in, use his sick leave to find another job. He did. I never went back because I was put on disability. Found three brain tumors that day.

I don't get what very important business people are doing if they can't let their one employee skip one-two days.

I got sa'd at work by the boss, and when I didn't respond favorably to his advances, he had my manager make up reasons to fire me.
