My step mum is 72 and she met a man last year while she was out black berry picking. They’ve been living their best lives together for the last year dining, hanging out, just enjoying each others company. It gives me hope it really does. And she didn’t meet my dad til they were late forties either and they had 18 incredible years together.

I’m 48 and gave up about 8 years ago. I’m just living my life, doing the things I enjoy and trying to have the best life I can afford to have. It gets me down sometimes as I’ve never been in love but I’d rather have a pretty good life on my own then settle for a mediocre man, and frankly, most decent men my age are already in relationships.

feel your pain. i think i've given up by now. have a marriage behind me, a couple avoidant bf-s. the very thought of dating makes me feel smth close to disgust. dont mind being friends with guys though, that seems to go better than relationship. also kinda starting to feel old for this and way too experienced. but all for the better i think

I was meant to go to a speed dating event a couple of weeks back, on the day of the event I wasn't feeling it at all so I didnt bother going. The same group are organising a singles event party night, I was just thinking about this scenario, I wouldn't feel comfortable approaching a man tbh 🙈😂
