I remember shopping at the commissary once and the checkout lady was like "Do you have your spouse ID?" and I was like "Well, no, but.." and she interrupted and said "You can't shop here without your spouse ID". I said "Well I don't have my spouse ID, but does my CAC work?" Her face was priceless.

I am the non military male spouse. Cashier was trying this with my wife. As soon as I walked up she was all about it. I said I need your manager Now. Then I explained to the manager Exactly how her cashier Broke their company policy. That cashier and manager got in so much trouble because I called the regional manager while I waited for the manager to arrive.

Once a boomer tried to yell at me in the Home Depot parking lot for parking in a veteran space, I just looked at him over my sunglasses and projected “F* you, old man!” and kept walking.

My worst experience over a military ID is when I had to renew my ID as a widow. The woman at the desk would not help me without my sponsor. I had to embaress her in front of the whole room because she was refusing to help me. I wish people would just look at the damn ID and paperwork 😭

when I was in, on base the vendors would talk to the husband, he'd stand there and listen, then say "Great, now please tell my sponor" then walk away. I'd laugh and walk after him 🤣
