I totally hear you! I planned a trip to Nashville with an old friend from HS I hadn’t seen in 3 years. She immediately ditched me to talk to 2 random men at the bar. She’s married! After sitting alone for an hour i told her i was going back to the hotel. 🤷♀️

No, I am not an extrovert but I agree with you. If my friend called to go out and then "worked" the room, I would feel they'd rather meet new people then hang out and laugh and have fun with me

It’s not you being sensitive. It’s just you being you. I believe the Maya Angelou quote is “When people show you who they are - believe them”. It’s ok if they’re like that but also ok for you to be you. I experience that behavior and then I adjust my behavior to choose to not hang out/or hang out with someone with such different interests than me - unless thrown into a group you can’t get out of. Then that’s like 😑. Then it’s just about doing time and waiting for that time to lapse.

My husband is an extrovert and he is Mr Social! I’m the one sitting there people watching. And talk to people who talk to me. I do not seek out conversation. lol And it’s fine. You’re fine :)

I don’t get it either. If I leave my grandog at home alone to hangout and they are trying to hit on people or whatever. No thanks, I don’t want to be a wingwoman and I feel like they can do all that by themselves. Lol

So I hate meeting new people but if I see people I know I’ll be sure to say hi. but this is where it ends. I made plans with said person and they will get my full attn bc 1-I love them but also 2-I respect them. I’m so sorry that was your night 🥺

I’ve distanced myself from some extroverted friends because if I clear my schedule to hang out with them and they use most of our time to talk to others, I guess I’m not that important to them. I have so many other things I’d rather be doing. I’m not interested in small talk or superficial relationships.

I’ll explain: extroverts have internal batteries that are not charged. When we get around others, we harness their charged energy battery to charge ours. Introverts, conversely, get their batteries charged being alone, so don’t have the same need. Schedule one on one time in quiet places with extroverts if you want that direct attention, with no distracting stimuli. The more stimuli, the more battery charging we’re going to want, to store up for several days.
