Don't take this to mean that repeated mistakes/sins mean you're now unchangeable. Islam has no concept of a character or personality or habit that can't be changed. "A servant committed a sin and said: 'O Allah, forgive me my sin.' So Allah said: 'My servant has committed a sin and realized that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes for it.' Then he returned and committed the sin again and said: 'O Lord, forgive me.' And Allah said: 'My servant has committed a sin and realized that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes for it.'
