A junkyard pr automotive shop might habe old truck or semi tires that you could buy. You could also try making a steel sheet ‘bumper’ frame around the edges to add support to the edges of the pad. Should also reduce how much they wear down

You probably put more pressure on your tires than a car would, because you don't have air in them and the surface area of contact is much smaller.

i wonder if the wear you're seeing on them is from torque. tires are designed to move linearly, and you're effectively in a stopped vehicle and twisting the wheel. I'm wondering if proto-putty (YouTube: the king of random) might be a good alternative. it's a moldable material so it may work really well with the attachment point

Leather between the foot pad and the rubber make sure you rough up the contact surface that you are gluing so it sticks better. That will give you a little more cushion. And use all terrain tires for traction

I wonder if the people who resole shoes would be able to get you some glue that would work better or some better rubber to help you out or maybe be able to sew them on with the glue added

it's probably because the edges aren't sealed like they are when they are in tire form if you can melt the edges they might wear more like a boot

dremel to buff both surfaces and a high quality super glue like scotch weld. If you can find a rubber / gasket manufacturer they could probably bond it on for you.

forklift tires..... meant to handle wheel spin, because that happens with a forklift

So shoes have a cushion zone so that the rubber doesn’t take the deformation maybe put a piece of like EVA Mat between the rubber and the bottom of the stubbies
