Looking at Bill’s methodology, the only thing hurting Kirby relative to Heupel is that Kirby didn’t improve UGA’s performance relative to their baseline as much as Heupel has at Tennessee, but that’s really only because UGA’s baseline was so much higher than Tennessee’s, and Heupel’s rating also includes his time at UCF. Bill was attempting to use objective measures for the ranking and it’s clear there’s room for adjustment.
