UK girly here - London is like NYC. People have places to be, things to do. It’s a tourist ridden place and some other European tourists are annoying. It’s just how it is. it’s not rudeness, British people are generally very polite.

Black and travel to London every year... never had issues. We as Americans need to understand that what's customary in the US might not be customary the country you are visiting. I spent 8yrs in Tokyo and I was warned the Japanese will bump into you on the sidewalks without acknowledging you no matter the race. If you aren't moving at their pace expect collisions. Sounds like you weren't prepared for London, if you think people in London are rude then you should definitely avoid larger cities outside the US.
