“companies that aren’t profitable their employees still deserve fair wages” bro companies that aren’t profitable don’t exist… and if they do they r on track to not exist in the near future

But when the revenue can’t fit that wage increase, then it becomes an issue, if that’s not the case than by all means , but the NBA can spend only 50% of their revenue on stadiums teams and travel because they are very profitable and can cover the cost, but if the league itself is struggling than ofc the players aren’t receiving 50% of the revenue , with more time and consistency the wnba can be paid handsomely

I feel like crying about 150k /yr to play basketball is a bad look considering the men’s league is the only thing keeping this alive. I’d argue MiLB baseball players put it a lot more work and they’re fighting to get paid what most teachers make 🤷🏼‍♂️

Ok if how they manage money now makes them negative every year and they then give players a higher percentage what cost are they cutting to compensate cuz they can’t pull from profit there is none so they must pull from somebody or something else right?

Disagreeing in a private meeting is normal union activity. Snitching to the press about those disagreements is a huge no no.

Their wages are fair! They play a game for a living in a league that makes no money.

WNBA players get 50% of incremental revenue, which is an annually set target revenue amount. They have a union and a contract, they voted for that deal and approved that deal. If they didn’t like it, they shouldn’t have signed it. I’m sure their union negotiators understood the difference between “all basketball related revenue” and “incremental revenue”. The real question now is whether the players are willing to go on strike or have lockout seasons to fight for more.

Fine, pay them more. But also ensure they aren't playing elsewhere, as they do with the NBA players!

The league makes no profit so you expect them to increase expenses? no business ever is doing that I'm sorry. you're comparing the revenue sharing a league that practically prints money and of one that would still be in the whole of it could print money. these are apples to oranges situations
