A preface of “here is something that worked for me” can help a comment sound less like ‘ur doing it all wrong!!!!!!111’ because new momma brain is both sleep deprived AND wired to absorb all info at once.

Welcome to motherhood. Unfortunately it doesn’t stop. Just do your best and ignore the static.

Every time I pumped or nursed I would get a Huge wave of depression- of course I thought I was being weak. Come to find out I had Dysphoric Milk Ejection Reflex and shouldn’t have kept nursing as long as I did

It gets easier and less judgy the older they get. Maybe not from my parents, but once they hit elementary school, comments and opinions died down.

what I've learned about pregnancy/motherhood is everyone has opinions and no matter what you do it's wrong 😅

I wanted to share a little encouragement from my perspective. I’m a young toddler teacher with over 16 years of experience in early childhood education, and I truly love my little students—and I know they love me back. But the bond we share is that of a trusted caregiver, and it’s never the same as the deep, irreplaceable connection a child has with their parents. In all my years, I’ve never seen a child or baby choose a daycare caregiver over their parent. That parental bond is unmatched, and nothing ever replaces that.

I stole a saying from Kristina Kuzmic and then paraphrased it lol… everyone should mind their own motherhood… you’re doing great!!!

YOU ARE ALLOWED TO COMPLAIN ABOUT BREASTFEEDING AND STILL *WANT* TO DO IT. Why is that so difficult for people to understand?? The difference is when you begin to NOT want to do it.

Everyone thinks they know best. And it’s a weird superiority thing. You know best for your baby!

To me it sounds wierd to leave a tiny baby in daycare but that’s because I’m a Swede where we have 480 days paid maternity leave. I got criticized here for going back to work when the kids were 12 months..

Yes, the daycare shaming has to go. It's definitely worth mentioning, our daughter LOVED daycare and preschool. She would cry at the door on Saturday mornings when we broke the news to her that there was no school for her that day 😩

It doesn’t matter how baby is fed, just that they are fed 😄 you do what is best for you and if you feel you need it ask for professional help 🥰🥰🥰

the only advice I have is do what works for you and your family. everything else can go to the wayside. experiment with things as you see fit but otherwise. lean into your instincts and do what you can to trust them.

The worst part is, it doesn’t get better with age you just get more confident in your decisions and care less - which isn’t a great solution 😩

I think it’s sometimes hard to grasp everyone has a different lived experience and it’s not a one size fits all when it comes to motherhood. And you don’t know what you don’t know. Sometimes “helpful advice” isn’t helpful

This is a normal experience. No matter what parenthood choices you make, friends, family and strangers are all too happy to come out of the woodwork to tell you that you are doing it wrong! Make choices that are healthy and work for your family and enjoy this precious time. They grow up in the blink of an eye.

I think so many people feel powerless that they choose to feel power thru bullying instead of love/support. I think you’re doing great!
