I've read quite a few fics about this and this one particular one stuck with me because she was trapped in Snow Manor for decades,had many children with him,and still never gave up who she was completely. Instead,she deprived him the joy of being the only person to hear her sing and killed herself at the end. Which depressed Snow so bad because his bird in a cage was gone that he willingly just gave up and waited for death 😭

You know I still am like 99% sure that snow shot Lucy gray and either she went back to the covey house (why Lenore doves uncles say ‘not again’ at the end of sunrise). Or snow never actually dumped the guns/with the guns he dumped Lucy grays body and just deluded himself into believing she disappeared like her poem

in my mind he never loved her, but liked the idea of controlling freedom and just wanted to "fix" her. he was obsessed with the fact that she was free, but would also have a weird obsession with the fact that he can control freedom itself. idk if it makes sense, but he saw himself as a saviour and wanted to save her 🙏🙏

I always shiver at the paragraph where he is imagining their life together in the capitol. It’s so obvious he thinks he loves her but he talks about her like she’s a commodity to be bought and sold. Already thinking of how to use her to revive her friends club and where he would cage her. I truely think if she had stayed she would’ve been no better off than the performing animal she became the moment she entered the capitol eye. And his paranoia would’ve had him convinced she was a rebel, or cheating on him, or selling herself and it would’ve ended the same if not worse

I think if he married her he would have made her an avox- hear me out: he didn’t like music. He despised the feeling of freedom that singing gave her. He liked the song she wrote for him but that was all it was. That it was about him. Once that box was checked he owned that part of her and could move on. She wouldn’t need to speak publicly as his wife. She could go out with him as arm candy and say nothing and im sure people would be instructed not to speak to her or there would be a plate of poison oysters for them
