My grandfather was the first in the Chicago area to get the Mitsubishi Starion. He has having issues getting the first allocation for it, he contacted Lee Iacocca, the President of Chrysler, and the ambassador for Mitsubishi at the time. My grandfather told Iacocca that he wanted the first starion, and Lee made it happen, my grandfather drove over 500 miles to a Mitsubishi dealer across the state to pick up his Starion, Lee had agreed to free maintenance for the life of ownership, all repairs were good willed and used for data collection for Mitsubishi and Chrysler

I usually don't like these 1-1 car stories but in this case it's badass. I absolutely love performance wagons and I'm assuming Iacocca thought so to. Imagine going out for a family night and blowing the doors off pretty much everything 🤭

my old boss has a similar story about pre ordering a mustang 2 when they came out they gave him the wrong pamphlet and what came was a mustang 2 with a V8 he said all it would do was burnouts so he took it back so somewhere out there is a first year mustang 2 with a big V8 engine code
