Adults see my daughters dexcom and ask her about it. When she tells them they always look at me disappointed and back at her and say 'I'm sorry, did mommy let you eat candy all the time honey, because that's why you're sick.' The first time she heard it she was so upset because she thought she and I somehow did something to cause it and I had to sit down with her and show her tons of information about how it isnt anybodys fault. She now rolls her eyes and asks them if they managed to graduate Elementary school. 🤣 (She has my sass for sure)

I became a diabetic at 27yrs old and my exs mom was always asking are u gonna have to take insulin for the rest of ur life. like yeah duh I am insulin dependent lol

Me getting told that cinnamon will cure my gestational diabetes 🙄🙄 No Susan, the only cure for my gestational diabetes is to birth this child (I did, and the diabetes was resolved. Wonder why 🙄)

They are doing the islet cell transplants now at least experimentally. T1’s are now going without insulin after the transplant. Hopefully they can bring that to the rest of the public soon.

my sister became diabetic at 11, so they thought hers was type 1. it's type 2 though. she found out at like 28. but our parents both had it, I got it. yay genetics.
