I hate when fans just blindly glaze the show and don't take any type of criticism towards it. the only reason I've been able to keep up is because I read the book

Bro hates it because things are happening✌️😭. LOTM is something the reader actively has to follow, it’s not like SL where u can turn ur brain off and watch it. The nuance is there u just need to lock in and watch it.

Even when lotm is at its worst it still deserves its rating, no matter what you think 🗿🗿🗿

Gorgeous show but I have no idea what’s going on, I actually zone out because it’s so hard to follow. I don’t even know what’s the two random characters in that fog room have anything to do with anything

Big bro is too used to fast pace action stories. He forgets LotM is a mystery novel and he should be grateful that we get fight sequences every episode

nah its pretty easy to understand, your criticism would be valid of it was for the first 2 episodes but ep 4 and 5 had very good pacing and was very easy to follow through if you focus , ep 3 was also pretty good . Since it is following a ecent based structure so we get tge start and conclusion of an event in the same episode or 2 episodes so it is nit that they will not cover the skipped stufff but rather it would be adressed later own.

the probleme is associating the danghua with the web novel, see the danghua is trying to work out something different from the novel , since if they followed the naration of the novel it won't work out.
in the novel we follow the story mainly from Klein's pov , hence we know more about klein and the story from his perspective. but in the danghua we follow a more of a 3rd person pov , a global pov

look man not everyone has the same reading comprehension so it may be fast for you but not for everyone I get that you want to give it an average rating but saying that it doesn't deserve a nine is just nonsense just because you can't understand doesn't mean tge same for everyone💔

of course it feels a little fast paced, the author stated that he wanted it to feel like there was a main event happening with each episode, therefore all of the main plot points are being split between episodes and all of the filler things mixed in between. the donghua is currently flowing really nicely though it’s just very different to the light novel but tbh it’s the only way to properly adapt something like lotm

I haven't read the novel but still managed to follow the story, which leaves me with many questions after each episode. I do not see this as a bad thing and actually enjoy the mystery. This show is for a mature audience, not teens.

I completely understand and agree with you. I’m still hoping, considering what the director said, that ep 6+ gets seriously better, but yeah. The pacing and understanding is just not there. And before anyone says anything like “oh it’s lord of the mysteries you’re not supposed to know” these ain’t the mysteries I’m talking about. I DONT want to learn what the grey fog is yet. But I DO wanna learn what Klein can do and can’t do. In the novel (for example) Klein learns how to make charms that do things like make people sleep. We are given an explanation of what they do. In the anime? He’s handed a card before fighting the monster in ep3 and suddenly uses it to make the monster sleep. Do we know why he could do that? Nope. He just could. Similarly in ep5, they rush a LOT of the beginning to get to the trissy stuff in a single episode. The incident on the boat is turned into a play, and the divinations are literally montaged through without a good understanding. Hell they make it look like Klein is seeing the dream himself when it’s just supposed to be described to him. He’s doing things he shouldn’t be able to do, or doing things we just never learned he COULD do. Like, genuinely ep4 prolly the best paced episode and still a little iffy. Love the book so far, which is why I’m saying this. I wish they slow it down a bit more to let what’s happening stick

I’m not gonna watch a 40 episode season snooze fest. The hype scenes and action and engaging story telling is amazing. The plot that you said was confusing is interesting and easy to understand. Also if youre thinking that everything will be explained in 2 episodes then this isn’t an anime for you. Also you won’t feel any attachment to the characters after 5 episodes, if you’re do then ur glazing. Wait for the series to end and then judge

Honestly it’s pretty bad, they skipped a lot of things that were in the books and add in other things that were not their to begin with

I'm torn about this. As someone who’s read Book 1 three times, I feel the Donghua doesn't fully capture the depth and mystery the story deserves.
After watching Episode 5, I knew each episode would focus on a key event, but I was still surprised they wrapped up Trissy’s arc in just one episode. In the novel, her story had a much greater impact because it unfolded gradually across several chapters.
Out of curiosity, I watched some reaction videos to see how viewers who haven’t read the novel feel. Surprisingly, many of them, especially those who really try to understand the plot, had a positive experience. The weekly, episodic format keeps them engaged, which works well since the Donghua releases weekly, unlike the novel where you can read at your own pace.

As a reader, I agree with your opinion. I hope that with the remaining 100 chapters of the novel that remain to be adapted, the pace will be much better. Although I must emphasize that in the donghua they organized the events that unfold better, since in the novel there were other narrative lines happening in parallel, making it more confusing to follow the reading of the novel 🫂

the series just has too much info for it to adapt EVERYTHING all the fans know it and the author does to. ye the pacing is rushed and you will feel lost but thats something literally most ppl who read v1 for the firat time maybe the 2nd season or other episodes will be paced better but for now its what we got and its better than what God of highschool did

I think at this point, I feel sorry for those who only watch Donghua. The fast-paced plot means many viewers don't develop attachments to the supporting characters.
When reading a novel, the slow pacing gives us a lot to develop attachments to.
So, it's not about whether we understand the power system or not, but rather that we don't have time to understand the other characters, because before we truly understand a character, we're presented with a new story.
