agreed with you EXCEPT 11. i'm glad Jordan got to end with that book because 10 is my LEAST favorite - but 11, with arguably one of the biggest turning points (mountain top scene)- to me what the books were building towards and what makes the sanderlanch possible - is part of the amazing ending NOT part of the "slog" so to speak.

While the slog is definitely frustrating for its lack of significant events and slower pace, there’s some great stuff in these books. And Knife of Dreams is way better than the prior 3 books, so I cannot call it part of the slog. Everything else is accurate.

I think the worst was the capture and search for Faile. I think she’s taken at the end of book 8 and is not rescued until book 11. Insanity.

Counting KoD as part of the slog is new. I would include it with the last 3. Usually it's ACoS that gets lumped in (which I also disagree). Big enough stuff happens in WH that I think it should be read. It's mostly CoT that can probably be summarized.

One of my favorite series of all time, I’ve read the whole thing roughly three times from start to finish…I do understand the ‘slog’ as it truly is. But the world, the diversity, the magic, the interweaving polictical machinations…so many series were inspired by this one. 📚😎

I have a very different preferred way to read the wheel of time. You start when Matt gets healed in the white tower, then you just read Matt’s perspective for the entire rest of the series
