Most don’t remember this, but Reagan cancelled essentially all neuroscience-based research. An entire cohort of young scientist were lost to other concentrations. Promising research halted- leading to a decades-long delay in treatment and cures for things like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Google how Reagan spent the last decade of his life.

I lost my mother as a teen to cancer. When Taylor Swift said; “Holy orange bottles, each night I pray to you ..” it hit so close to home. I was able to keep my mother longer thanks to clinical trials. One of her trial drugs is a proven treatment for her cancer now. She helped pave the way for hope for others.

It’s sad what they’re doing, but for the best treatment if you’re not rich you won’t be able to afford it. Thousands die every year because they can’t afford the care that would save their lives and don’t want to leave their family with crushing debt.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I, myself, have had cancer twice (2 different ones), my sister, mother, and father all passed from cancer. This administration is so cruel in what they’re doing by cutting funding for cancer research.

Neuroscientist girlfriend just submitted a grant. Worried that homographs will cause it to be rejected. Neurons are "biased" which does not mean they are tiny DEI supporters. NPR and CPB funding cuts have eliminated science reporters like Miles O'Brien who just wrote about it.
