Not to sound insensitive but these people they are calling native Americans Indians are not indigenous. The real indigenous/native Americans (Indians) are black. Christopher Columbus said so in his journals. He called us Indios in Spanish, meaning Indian, because he thought he had reached India. That’s how the name stuck. The British brought Asians to America as servants and chose to call them native Indians, form peace treaties, give them reparations, land and intentionally omit the real natives - black people. Washington Irving is the one who decided to erase our black heritage from history books, and claim that Christopher Columbus discovered America. In 2021, black Indians took these so called Indians to court and WON. Now we can be included in these Native American lands if we pursue it. Do your research!
