Part of me wishes that Kang was a relevant threat in more than Ant Man so he didnt look as sorry. Like if he waa the villain in Cap 4 and Ant Man 3, thatd be crazy. Then have them slowly realize its the same guy. Kang being JUST Loki and Ant Man 3 is so sad.

let's just put aside the internal politics for a second, kang is also an incredibly difficult villain to write because he appears in so many convoluted plots and appearances, that its difficult for audiences to understand which is the prime, most dangerous one. I think they realized that and pivoted to Dr doom for that reason. Not too mention, when you have him beaten so easily in the antman movie, its hard for audiences to take him seriously.

After Quantumania there is a zero percent chance Kang could have been taken seriously as a Thanos level threat. He got worked by antman and a bunch of ants.

I believe it to an extent. I was always against Kang being the “beyonder” or being the villain that the story was focused on cuz both iterations of Secret Wars have Doom being the focus and getting the Beyonder’s power. It’s like doing IW and Endgame and having Loki be the one who wiped out half the universe

They screwed up everything with Kang. They never should’ve introduced him before Reed and Doom because Kang is so intertwined with both of them. Then losing to Antman of all people was insane. And doing Secret wars with Kang as the big bad never made any sense. Just terrible all the way around
