Ill counter that with this, Star Trek is the most popular sci-fi ip in history (next to Star Wars) anyone changing it in any way will ruin whoever decided it. Look at wjat happened with Disney with the star wars shows, Disney had to take a step back, Star Trek is older and way more established in tv, even if things are like you say, then just thinking about that will destroy their stock and completely kill brodcast tv. CBS knows it, im sure everone else will find out too
