✨The more I grow as an artist and adult I realize how important self care is to my daily routine. It’s really easy to burn out as a creative and business owner- so here are some of the practices that fuel me and get rid of that “overwhelm” feeling. 1. Getting out in nature- I love hiking, walking, exploring new areas. A change in scenery really helps reset my brain and calm my nervous system! And birdwatching and seeing the little critters gives me inspo for my projects  2. Exercise! I absolutely love my all-women gym. It’s helped me feel more comfortable working out and being with like-minded women encouraged me to be stronger and work harder towards my fitness goals! After my brothers passing I started getting into running. Whenever grief is too heavy I run. And being in an all women space makes me feel safe enough to zone out while I run. Forever grateful to have an all women’s gym nearby. If you’re in the Chicagoland area- Evefit is the best gym out here for women! And they even have a pool which is a big plus for me.  3. Spending time with friends and family- I always make sure to make time to spend with the people I love. They make me feel supported and that I can do anything I set my mind too. So many times I would feel unproductive for putting aside work to go to dinner with friends, or spend time at my family’s house- but I’ve realized that these special times are 100x more important to me than work/financial accomplishments.  4. Keeping a clean space! Having a clean house (especially kitchen) is integral to my self care. My mind feels so much clearer and organized when my space is!
