As a lifelong Philadelphian, next time you have to come here I totally recommend John’s water ice in south Philly and going to the Rosenbach, and if your kiddo is into medical stuff the Mutter

if this is a place you have to go again, the story telling benches were a highlight for my family. (we are pretty sure we got lice from the American revolution museum, but it was pretty cool to see Washington's tent)

A fellow CHOP family (our daughter was born extremely early at 22 weeks) and locals to the area; I’d highly recommend the Constitution Center and US Mint! The Constitution center has a room with life size statues of all of the signers so you can go and pose/take pictures with them. Very cool experience!

You MUST go to Williamsburg VA it’s AMAZING! Then go to Gettysburg PA and come see me in Cumberland MD to visit Washington’s Headquarters!

CHOP is a great hospital my son has Elhers danlos syndrome along with tourettes syndrome and we only took him to chop when he was younger.

i was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 25 years ago at CHOP and moved to philly when i was i also attended conferences like that my entire childhood - made lifelong friends and learned so much throughout the years

a hidden gem (if you can tolerate heat since we are not at all air conditioned) is the Wagner Free Institute of Science up on 17th and Montgomery! it's a free museum with over 100k specimens that p much hasn't changed since 1895

Although you never want to do doctors appointments. 😪I swear the only way to convince yourself that this is all going to be ok is to do a lot of other fun things around those big appointments. It makes the appointment more of a small thing of the big trip and less of a focus point. Still never fun though! Hope your kiddo is doing ok. Glad you guys had fun otherwise!
