It doesn’t count. Because you’re not actually “reading”. You are “listening” to an audiobook. That’s like saying, “I’m listening to the cereal box while I eat”. Doesn’t take away from the experience of enjoying the story though. Some read 📚, some listen 🎧 , and some watch it 🎥 when it comes out on film.

That’s actually really funny and this may just be one of my 3am no caffeine thoughts but with that logic wouldn’t that mean if an author typed their book out on a computer and didn’t hand write it they would be “typing” and not writing a book??
