We can do a lot but the best thing we can do but no one wants to do is buy local buy from farmers markets stop buy from amazon or big box stores keep the money in the community. But people don’t want that lol 😂

Inflation has been used to reset sales markets. We always want to fight for wage increases, but we never want to fight for wage increases plus price freezes. Coincidence? I think not.

Reagan killed the annual Minimum Wage increase! 🤬.

Plus now we have extra bills like cell phones and internet. No, neither are truly needed to survive, but jobs will need to get a hold of you, so it's expected.

😭 1971 had a 40hr work week where they could afford 1.82oz of gold? At today's spot price that's 154.25 an hour today. 😭😭😭 I hate that we came off the golf standard, then the silver standard. 😒 😭

To put it simply, going off the gold standard just moved the value of the dollar to Gross National Product. The value of what your country produces determines, the “strength of the dollar”

The $1’s value has drastically diminished over time due to inflation, changing economies, and shifts in purchasing power. What once bought a lot now barely covers the basics, highlighting the importance of understanding economic trends to preserve personal wealth and navigate modern finance.

I agree, but also canonically things were a lot cheaper back then like the average car price in 1971 was $3543 which is equivalent to $28,148.61 but the average new car in 2025 is currently according to what I saw $48,000 getting close to double so wall our wages have been losing value. Everything else has been increasing more than just the rate of inflation.

The problem was how the gold standard was set. Officially gold stayed a fixed price in US dollars… but not the rest of the world. It was a broken system that was unsustainable.
