I hate covered calls. So far I have only lost on covered calls.

It’s actually not risky, just miss out on gains beyond your strike

I love how they always say how much they make but never mentions how much you need to put it

For most calls I did alright, for one odd one I did loose out on the upside gain, asts I wish I had just held on but oh well, you win some and loose some

I sell Cash secured puts, and then I only sell covered calls if those get assigned

I completely agree with what you explain here but the example you gave of the stock dropping from 31 to 22 is in my opinion not the best example. One example I can think of right now: TSLL is paying very high premiums. It paid me around 7% for a premium because earnings are around the corner. I originally was assigned shares at 11.40$ and I have a covered call expiring the 25th with a SP of 12.5% TSLL will definitely drop a lot after earnings but even if it gets down to 9.5$ I can still sell premiums every week and get 1% of my money back which is a good return. While at the same time I wait for TSLL to recover and if I ever see that my shares will get close to getting called away, I will just keep on rolling.

Look into poor man’s covered calls Ken. Buy a deep in the money option and sell covered calls against that deep ITM call.

Mind doing a video on your strategy? For accounting for taxes with your weekly earnings. Do you just put 30% or so in a separate account or are the earnings after tax

If I sell a covered call, and the stock plummets, but it’s a stock I like, I still get the pocket the premium and keep the stock?

Cover call is you can earn premium immediately and you will not lose money but might earn less if your call is exercised.
