@eventingmustang: Back from Montana!! First session after being gone for a week. I went in with higher expectations, hoping he would have retained what we worked on before I left, and of course this smart boy remembered it all. We did actually quite a bit today, started with a groom, picking up feet, and then had him yield his shoulders and hindquarters. I introduced him later to a spray bottle, which he didn’t mind at all. Finally to finish up I decided to play with the hose and some water since it was so hot! We definitely were not a fan at first, but was able to eventually hose his whole body! It was actually nice that he reacted a bit, so I could see how he would react when he’s worried. When he’d spook and leave he’d run for a split second then turn back and face me. Which was great! Glad to have been able to test him a bit to learn more about how he’d react. Tomorrow I’m planning on pulling some saddle pads and different things out to play with on the ground, and on him to start working on getting him desensitized to more.
