@harveytherescue: struggling with your dog jumping? the key is not waiting for them to jump so you can show them it’s “wrong”. they key is preventing rehearsal of the behavior, teaching them what to do instead, and lotsssss of consistency. jumping can be a very difficult behavior to change because dogs often have such a long history of performing the behavior. if you’re going to focus on this, you have to be consistent, and understand it’s going to take time. What about when you’re out of the house with your dog and come across people and your dog jumps on them? Don’t usually have treats on me and he usually doesn’t even jump when we first come up on the people. Could be 5min of talking and then suddenly he jumps. 🤦🏻‍♀️
