@jay_nesha: It’s Hot, Creamy, and Southern: Shrimp & Grits 🍤🔥 GRITS: Bring broth + a splash of heavy cream to a boil. Whisk until it’s thickened how you like it. Add salt, pepper, butter, and cheese. (And no, I don’t put sugar in my grits. Let’s be serious.) SHRIMP: Season to your liking. Add lemon juice for that lil razzle dazzle. SAUCE: Fry up some bacon (I used turkey bacon). Add the Holy Trinity—onions, bell pepper, and celery. (Clearly I ain’t have celery, but I made it work.) Cook shrimp in the bacon drippings—2–3 mins each side. OPTIONAL: Make a roux with flour + butter. NON-OPTIONAL: Add heavy cream, seafood stock (or chicken broth if that’s what’s in the house), and cheese.
