That’s it, I’ve peaked. That was the highlight of my career; speaking to a packed room full of people at the biggest design conference in the world. Four months of planning for less than 15 minutes of fame. Last week was one of the best weeks of my life, and I can honestly say I’ve made some life long friends in that short amount of time. Huge shout out to Paul Trani, Kelsey Slay, Anna McNaught and Magdiel Lopez; my co-hosts for the Graphic Designer Super Session. It was an honour to be on stage with you, and thank you for letting me design your Intergalactic Tourism board logo (FYI it’s a galaxy styled in the shape of a flower, as per Magdiel’s flowery mood boards). If you missed our session, you can catch it at the link in my bio. A special thanks to Kristy Campbell for co-hosting the Agency vs Freelance Q&A. Kristy gave me so much advice, not only on stage but also long before the conference and it was so great to meet you (and your family) in person. Special note to James Bonanno (Anna’s Husband) and Evan McNaught (Anna’s brother) for making me feel so welcome and giving me the biggest ego boost ever after my talk. Absolute legends. Also to Chris Do, James Martin, Will Paterson, Paul Mikhaylenko, Dot Lung, Jamie Brindle, Swoop Nebula, Noah Jennings, Temi Coker, Liz Mosley, Tony Harmer, Julieie W, Lucy Eden, Alex (Curly Cue), Ram (Overset Text) and many others who I’m sure I’ve missed for letting me hang out with you all (and to finally meet some of you in person). For how famous in the design space you all are, you’re all unbelievably down to earth. To Desire Lacap for teaching me how much of a Premiere noob I was, and for letting me steal her LUTs. 🤣 To Dave Clayton for always being my champion and for introducing me to Aaron Draplin. I don’t think I’ll ever live that moment down. 🥹 And finally to Elissa and Cari for putting on a spectacle and for taking a chance on an untested speaker. Thank you so much.
