Indonesian here, Actually the goddess in a boar form represents that she’s beautiful as a goddess but she’s just a low born ( boar ). The king had an affair with her then born Dayang sumbi ( the girl ). The dogs represent that he’s a loyal kingdom guard.

You forgot that because the mom is a demi-god she doesnt age, thats why Sangkuriang doesnt believe thats shes his mom because shes too young to be his mom

there's an intrepretation of this story that became popular recently in indonesia (back then, caught gossiping about the royal family equals death). dayang sumbi born from a pig meant that her mom was from the lower class, the dog tumang is dayang sumbi's guard, and sangkuriang asking for dayang sumbi's hand in marriage is him asking for support of his legitimacy for the throne, which based on the story we knew that it failed. the running joke with this story among indonesian for generations is how high the storyteller was when they created this story lol

if i have a penny for everytime a female character from an indonesian folklore tasks a man she vehemently does not want to marry to finish impossible tasks overnight and have him be super close she has to wake up the chickens to trick them into thinking its morning... i'd have two pennies. it's not much but it strange that it happened twice (that i know of)

actually, it's not literally. the story is a codified version of real story about scandal in Sundanese Kingdom back then.
the peasant was forbidden to talk frontally about members of kingdom so they created story to tell the gossip.

fun fact, in one of the versions of the story, dayang sumbing was 'gifted' a youthful look for her meditation or something like that, that's also one of the reasons why Sangkuriang didn't recognize her

Thanks for bringing up my ethnic group folklore! I'm happy that more people will know about this. Anyway it is SUNDAnese not Sudanese. Please don't get this wrong because I'm sad that a lot of Europeans/Americans are mistaking Sunda as Sudan :(

this fairy tale is (allegedly) based on royal family gossip and since people cannot tarnished royal name, they change it into story tale

the way i immidiately laugh right after the title annouce, i remember that one meme, "the question is : what drug did the Tangkuban perahu author take before writing the story?" it still so funny🤣🤣🤣 then i realise the meaning behind the story. its like a symbolism of the arbitrariness of the nobility, thats why its so uniquely weird but so entertaining.
