This is my mother's Cabin in Hawkins County Tennessee. The house was built to resemble an old general store. It sounds like one too. The nights when I've stayed here, I can hear the floors creak like an old general store's floor boards, when nobody is up walking around. My mother once was taking my granddaughter out someplace and she couldn't find one of her new shoes anywhere. She looked all over her house and just couldn't find the one shoe. Mom and the baby left and went to do their business. When my mother returned, and keep in mind nobody else was at her house. The doors were all locked and the windows too. Anyway, when she returned, she walked through the kitchen and into the washroom. There in the middle of the washroom floor was the shoe she couldn't find.

"It was the way it was sitting there " she told me. It was in the center of the room, facing directly at her. Laces perfectly placed and sitting upright. Like it was placed there for her to take notice. She was sure that it wasn't there before. She had walked through that room a bunch of times looking for the missing shoe and couldn't have passed it there without noticing it. She felt like something either took the shoe and then placed it out on display to play a prank on her. Or she had misplaced it or it had fell behind something and a spirit was helping her find it and placed it there so she would know it had helped her locate it.
