I hard agree. First 200 pages I was completely hooked and understood why everyone said this was their favorite book, but then those middle 400 pages lost me. It got me again at the end but I think I would have liked an abridged version better.

This is one of the few cases where the movie is better than the book. You should watch the 2002 Jim Caviezel movie.

I agree that the middle portion of the book definitely slows down from the start, but I just don’t think the last parts would be as impactful if you cut all that out.

100%. The first few hundred pages are masterful, but by the time you're with two characters you don't care about talking *at length* with some irrelevant third character about some unknown bandit you also don't care about... It gets real tough to keep going.

it's a bit off the topic of this book, but would you guys if you haven't read already read and review the way of shadows by Brent Weeks its quite an old book but very game of thrones/red rising vulgarity to it
