My brother was in an accident in 1999. He had TBI. We were told he was brain dead and would never recover. A team of individuals met my parents in a room to discuss organ donation. My parents refused. This was at Raleigh Durham Wake Med Hospital. After their refusal, the hospital staff went out of their way to be rude and disrespectful to my family. BTW: my brother woke up from his coma less than a month after the declaration that he was brain dead. He was transferred to another hospital and had to relearn everything- swallowing, walking, everything. It was a long road. But he did recover. He is now gainfully employed, owns his own home, is married with a daughter. I will never be listed as an organ donor.

I hate this because I actually would love to donate my organs when I die because I won’t be using them 🤷🏽♀️but I don’t want my organs forcibly taken without even trying to save my life first

As a funeral director I’ve personally seen people pass away in the hospital, become donors then arrive into my care with black eyes, and bruises on their donation areas. It’s impossible for deceased people to bruise. Impossible, unless they weren’t deceased when they were harvested.

I’ve always been an organ donor, been in multiple life threatening car wrecks and even been shot with multiple code blues yet I’m still here, sounds more like a corrupt hospital then the organ donor label…. Look into the hospitals and the people in charge

I’ve been an organ donor since I was 18. I was in a horrific car accident.. as far as I know I still have all of my organs. I’m still an organ donor bc if I can’t live and someone else can please do.

the lady at the DMV was taking down my answers and I said NO to OD & when I looked over the entire doc to make sure my info was right , she put YES to organ donor… I changed it but so weird.
