@abbyexplainsitall: I get asked often how I’ve managed since my custody battle started in 2021 - the only true answer I have is NOT making any of my children an idol. Not letting my children be my SOURCE of joy, peace, or love. I find that often so many mothers are using their children to meet unmet emotional needs in themselves and this really limits your ability to parent from a healthy place. My children bring me love, peace, and joy, but they are NOT the source. I’ve found that in my relationship with God that is secure. He’s my joy, my peace, and is love. He’s never changing. I don’t have to wait to experience those things until it’s my parenting time. Learning this lesson has been a hard one, and it started in a very dark place for me. But I’m so grateful for those days because it taught me where my help comes from. It taught me to be content. It helped me to be unmoved by the evil games being played and to remain focused, strategic, and patient. We’re not done because unfortunately I’m dealing with someone who will likely have me in court until my child’s 18th birthday because they thrive on the attention, but it doesn’t stop me from living the life that is set before me, from continuing to grow my family, make memories, and experience true uncontested joy. Remember, Daniel still had to go in the lions den, he’s just wasn’t alone and was able to REST in a place where other people would have tried to RUN. Stop waiting to be “delivered from the den” and learn to trust God in it and rest! #motherhood #custody #coparenting
