As a teacher and the daughter of one I wouldn’t recommend homeschooling for the early primary and pre years as they are very important and formative years where they need a qualified teacher to help them with all their foundational knowledge, especially with reading and writing, phonics and sound groups. All those things are hard to teach when not properly educated in linguistics like teachers, at least in my country, are.

I agree with you 100%..do they have Montessori schools where you live? My oldest son is autistic and putting him in Montessori school has helped a lot…

Have you met with a child study? They can get him an iep. They can put him special class. It’s probably 10 students or less with a teacher and aides. My son is in a special needs school (he’s autistic) he started in pre k 3. But school can provide speech class, OT etc..

I’ve been homeschooling for four years now both of my younger kids and it’s been the best decision ever I use time for learning. You can use the K-12 program. There’s a lot of great resources hands-down best decision. You can mix curriculums and it’s really wonderful being able to educate your kids in an environment that they feel safe and healthy.

I love homeschooling my daughter and it works well for our family, but everyone is different. She's about to start second grade. I like that she can learn at her own pace and her schooling is personalized to her. I know at some point, when she gets into higher level math for instance that we'll probably need to get a tutor, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

I totally understand, I did not enroll my girl until she was potty trained fully , she’s autistic and I just couldn’t put her in a position she’d be uncomfortable in 😁😅she goes to school this august

my aunt has been a kindergarten teacher for 38 years and when my son had the option to go to kindergarten at 4 she strongly recommended I wait a year.

I would say start him as late as you can aside from the classroom and learning side of school there is the social side and a child that is not ready for that will be left out of the friends groups. Better to be on the older side of the class room age group. You will known what is right.♥️♥️⚡️

I agree 100% with you. my oldest daughter is special needs I had a very hard time sending her to school because she did not talk very well. I kept thinking I'm her mom I'm with her all the time if I can't understand her how are they going to. I totally agree with you and you. you're an amazing mom keep doing you!

Do you think that being around other kids will benefit him, help him to learn how to communicate? In my experience, daycare helped my son tremendously and he progressed so fast with speech! 😊

Thats my exact rule too 💓💓 my son is 3 next month and never has been babysat by anyone by grandma . He couldnt speak in full sentences until recently so i didnt allow him anywhere unknown or unseen. Been called overprotective this and that! IDGAF, my babies will know i protected them before my comfort or easier options

I’ve found in my experience, homeschooling was the way to go. There are programs like k12 that is online schooling so there is a certified teacher actually teaching and you’re there. I also liked some charter schools but you’ll have to seriously do research. I’d say until you feel comfortable with his ability to tell you what’s happening/how he’s feeling to definitely go the home school route. You can do “co schooling” with other homeschool mommas, or the k12 programs (they even do field trips!)

An extra year home is perfect for little boys. Not because of speech but because it’s another year to get the wiggles out and learn at his own pace and in his own way 🤗

Mama you go with your gut! Don’t let the “ professionals“ try to persuade you. YOU are a professional on YOUR child. Definitely go with your gut…it’s never failed you 👊🏼

I agree with you. Keep him at home with a tutor and speech therapy. When he abled to speak in full sentences you can send him to school.
