Yup! That is most of the problem. our sons get married and then are not allowed to have anything to do with his family. It’s crazy girls/women are jealous of the husbands mom

I have lunches & talk to my MIL more than my husband does. 😂 I think it’s the sweetest thing that she likes to do that and be involved. She’s definitely not overbearing either just simply loves us and the grandkids.

if a man cuts off family for a woman, even if they are married, then he isn't a man at all! he def isn't a man I'd marry. what wife would expect, let alone demand, you cut out your whole family and make your life revolve around just her and hers?? umm nope 😔

My husband choose to walk away from his whole family when they did not support his sobriety and when they would attempt to get him to drink again with pressure while he was at family events. He didnt realize how little support he had til he got sober. Yes I was there but I was the ine telling him to have a realionship with the regardless because they are his family eventually he had enough. I of course am.blamed but he choose to be sober for his kids and needs the support to do that not the pressure to stay drunk his choice that they cant accept.

And this is why my son is divorced!!! He tried to make things work for several years until he missed his family enough to say I’m done!!

my son did the same thing. gave up on the entire family AND childhood friends that her known for 20yrs.... she gave up nothing and they moved out of town, just around the corner from her family. but we are the toxic ones, not.

I’m so toxic that I made a suggestion on how to move a couch out of the house that they were working on my house to tilted over and take off the legs that he actually went out and got a gun out of the car and started shooting over a suggestion

I do not like my in laws. My husband is free to have a relationship with them, but I don’t go around often. Why can’t their spouses have relationships with their family?

I feel like we as the older generation need to make sure we aren’t facilitating this behavior. If your daughter is bringing her spouse and the kids around and you know the in-laws aren’t being seen, make a stand with your daughter. Don’t be part of the problem

My older son gravitates toward his wife’s family which is ok—I get it. The only thing I’m sad about is her family gets to keep the grands. They don’t ever let me take them to do things. they don’t spend the night, etc. I’ve asked if I have done anything wrong. Nope they say. Just makes me sad. 😞

Had a daughter in law that way. Anytime my son came to viisit me she was on the phone complaining. This includes the year I was laying in the hospital. We have always done a family dinner every month. Games and friends. She would be so rude if they came at all.

This sounds like my DIL. She despises my whole side of the family. It started with my mother, then me and she’s been rude to my ex MIL. These DIL’s are so toxic.

Ohhh my DIL told me before the no contact happened that “they” were “working” on finding my sons voice as he stood right next to her and she did all the talking.. I knew right then Houston, we have a problem.. no contact for over 4 years now.. entire family tossed out with the trash
