Religion IS incompatible with science tho. You can make an arbitrary distinction based on personal choice about where you trace the line, but religious dogmatism (and religion is inherently dogmatic) is detrimental to scientific thinking.

Science helps us understand the detailed mechanisms behind how God creates and sustains life. The Quran, however, does not provide exhaustive scientific explanations because its primary purpose is to offer moral and spiritual guidance, not to serve as a science textbook. If the Quran focused too much on science, people might get distracted by the details and miss the important spiritual lessons. Also, if everyone accepted the Quran fully without questioning, the life in this world as a test would lose its meaning. Example, the Quran says that God created all living things from water, but it doesn’t explain exactly how this happens. Modern science has shown that all life on Earth shares a common ancestor known as LUCA the Last Universal Common Ancestor. LUCA likely originated in a watery environment, such as hydrothermal vents on the ocean floor. This single-celled organism is the source from which all plants, animals, and microorganisms have evolved. In this way, LUCA represents the scientific explanation for the Quranic statement that life was created from water. The verse highlights the fundamental role of water in life’s origin, while science reveals the natural processes and environment where this began. The Quran mentions the heavens being “ripped apart” without detailing how this happens. Modern cosmology offers theories like the Big Freeze, Big Rip, and Big Crunch as possible scientific models for how the universe might end, which can align with the Quranic description. When the Quran says God “placed” mountains, some people argue that mountains were formed through tectonic plate movements over millions of years. Since the Quran does not specify when or how God placed the mountains, this natural process can be seen as the means by which God established them. It is important to understand that God is not a mythical figure who simply waves a magic wand. Instead, God created and governs the laws of physics, chemistry, biology, and all natural sciences continuously. Without God, these laws would cease to exist, and there would be absolute nothingness similar to the state of no consciousness. God gave us the ability to learn science.

Science can’t prove or disprove metaphysical claims. However I think science’s ability to undermine the physical claims that mainstream religions make should significantly lower your credence towards religious beliefs and religious thinking.

furthermore, science itself is really *just* models so i’m not sure why anyone would say specific models are incompatible with the fundamental reasoning as to WHY the models work.

I’m studying physics and the more I learn the more I see how intricate everything is. While I don’t follow an organized religion I do believe there is definitely something greater than us

It would be great if someone could drive the point home that atheism is a metaphysical assumption with no scientific backing too. Getting annoyed with people presenting science as hostile to religion.

most of the time when people say religion contradicts science, they're misinterpreting scripture with modern lenses.

It's possible for a particular religious claim or doctrine to conflict with scientific findings or with the predictions of our best scientific theories. I'm not sure what it is about religion simpliciter that would conflict with science, however. Surely there could be a religion that just doesn't make many empirical claims, or any at all?

To be honest 🤣, I don't understand why atheists love and study science, like bro, according to their worldview they know nothing happens after they die, so what's the purpose of studying science then? Imagine this scenario, there is a person who is a drug addict and spends his entire life doing drugs. See, from his perspective taking drugs is just like doing science. He is just experiencing life, just like a scientist doing research, but if you're religious, you do science to appreciate God's work. I don't see a plausible reason why atheists do science. This leads me to question what the motivation is for seeking science without a higher purpose. If there is no reward for scientific endeavour ??? in the universe, why not adopt an easier, less stressful path? The absence of something greater than oneself as motivation leads one to ask what drives atheists to seek out such a rigorous endeavour.

Evolution isn’t science btw, and it goes against Islam (we know the story of Adam -pbuh- and his creation). And to me, as a theoretical physicist, the fact that evolution goes agianst Islam is way worse than it not being scientific at all. I mean, why would I believe the speculations of some atheists who try to push their atheistic religion into science, and disbelieve God’s book? These “scientists” (who are a disgrace to the name of science) can go to hell, I’m believing God and denying bullshit.
