interesting. there's a game I used to play (and intend to eventually upload to tabletop sim) where game had static decks and the customization came from champions that leveled up from tournament play.

I played Legend of the 5 Rings when they brought it back several years ago. L5R was the only living card game I've played. In some ways I did prefer it to MTG in terms of acquiring the cards but the set release schedule was way to much to keep up with.
