Hey, just so people know. Cake decorators that work at corporate owned grocery stores, don't have control on whether we can discount or donate a cake or not. All we do is the follow the rules we get from the higher ups in corporate. So we know it would be better to discount or donate the cake, but we can't if we still would like to continue to have our job.

Every time I pick up a cake that I order, I have to wait for them to put the writing on it. Maybe your bakery should start doing that if you have this much food being wasted.

I always thought it was odd to Pay for the cake at pickup instead of when placing the order. is there a reason for that? feel like more ppl would pick it up if they already paid.

I’m sorry but a lot of those could be resold or at the very least donated or given to employees in the break room etc. this is what is wrong with corporate American. So much waste. Also this is why independent bakers require a deposit or paid in full to even get on the books. If it’s already paid for they are much more likely to show up
