There will be a gift ralts holding Gardevoirite so I’m positive there will be stones still but whatever is causing this rouge mega evolution to occur is something we’ll find out

Also worth noting that Zygarde, the Pokemon responsible with maintaining balance within nature, has taken a special interest on Lumiose City specifically. Could this mega evolution phenomenon be messing with the balance of nature??

there are definitely stones though! the early purchase bonus is a ralts with a gardevoirite stone but "rogue mega evolution" is definitely interesting

Wasn’t there a thing in one of the movies where the villains found a way to make a large amount of Pokemon all mega evolve by creating a frequency that mirrors that of a keystone?

I still subscribe to the theory that Quasartico is behind the rogue mega evolutions. And that it’s only possible in the first place because they’re attempting to replicate that same energy from the ultimate weapon underneath prism tower in a secret lab. And then broadcasting this replicated energy in waves from prism tower forcibly mega-evolving pokemon who have the potential to do so around Lumiose City.

Mega Stones can be purchased (at the Stone Emporium), or you can trade Mega Shards (found throughout Lumiose) for a Mega Stone at Quasartico. Maybe someone at Quasartico is behind the rogue Pokémon mega evolving.

I always thought it could be like Dragite, Dragoite, Dragonitenite? It would be the first to have a unique name that weird. Also we know the mega stones are still used bc the early game Ralts mystery gift comes with the Gardevoirite, so we will def have a stone for Dragonite (maybe?)

I think it’s like the Pokemon Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel, where the villains force Pokemon to mega evolve w/out a stone. Maybe that’s what the Rust Syndicate(or the true antagonist) is doing to the wild Pokémon in this game too

I think this makes sense too because the last legends game didn’t have held items and I don’t think this one will either. Tho they also did announce a MG of raltz with a Gardevoirite so I dont know

Or maybe somehow someway there are parts in kalos that have a huge mega energy flow which causes those pokemon to evolve roguely maybe something happens to the mega stones
